This was drawn as a gift to a work colleague who sadly lost her cat to a road traffic accident recently. She was very upset about it so I thought I would draw her a picture to help cheer her up.
I didn't have a reference of her cat, but she did show me photos and the cat was pure white, so thankfully it was an easy thing to just guess on.
I really wanted to do a happy, yet calm and serene picture for her so I got this idea of the cat sniffing at some flowers, but in the end I decided to go with cherry blossoms in the background with the petals showering down on the cat. I love cherry blossom trees and find them calming myself.
I think if I had more time, I would of done a bit more work on the tree in the background, but overall I really liked how this came out. My work colleague seemed to like it too, so I'm really glad about that.
