This is what I spent most of my Christmas day doing~! I recently watched the 8th Pokémon movie called "Myuu and the Wave-Guiding Hero - Lucario" and I must say that movie has to be one of the best Pokémon movies, if not THE best. I enjoyed it so much and the end made me cry
Anyway soon after watching it I ended up sketching up a picture of a number of characters from the film; Aaron, Lucario, Mew and the Regi's.
The picture itself I kinda compiled as almost like a preview poster for the movie, or at least that's what I was aiming for, so I decided to try and re-create a background from the movie for the background of this picture. I chose a shot near the end of the movie which had a lovely overlook of the area the movie takes place in. I am really pleased with how the background ended up turning out, I think I've finally figured out how to do decent backgrounds in Photoshop~!
Overall I'm really very happy with how this picture turned out ^^
Want... so much.
I wish I could see this movie, I really want to. And I don't mean after the English dubbers have finished with it. I want to see the ORIGINAL! Sigh... Don't I just wish.
This is so cool! I love Mew as it looks so happy and cheerful. What is the green thing it's sitting on though? Either way I like the faint glow it gives off which is good for the day light feel of the picture. It still glows but not so blindingly as it's contesting against the sun.
I haven't seen too many pictures of the main characters but I think this looks very close to the originla designs. I'm not sure about the spike in/on Rukario's(?) chest but like I said I haven't seen that many shots of it. The main human character (other than the useal crew) is really well portraied and his face shape is exactly like the normal pokemon human design. The lines of the body and neck give him a bit more life which is great as pokemon tend to be a bit stiff from detail point of view. The three at the bottom of the page are nice and I like how the third of them has only just noticed the two new-comers come to see what they're looking at.
The shading is wonderful and I love how the shadows are still deep enough to indicate that this is in the morning, just after dawn (I think).
So pretty!

Well I'm happy to send you the movie ;D I'll send some more Pokémon episodes along with it too, though I can't for the life of me remember which episodes I gave you last time XD
The green thing Mew is on is petty much just a green bubble, in the movie Pikachu, Mew and Meowth rode these little green bubbles through the tree that Mew lives in ^^ I didn't quite capture the bubble right in the picture as in the movie it was slightly transparant as well XD
I've yet to see the movie... I've watched all of them faithfully thusfar, but I still need to take the time to download--er, "buy" this one... I can't wait to see it ^^ this is an awesome picture, I love it when people do pictures based on the movies @_@
This one instantly became my favorite after I watched it so i'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get to see it ^^ The movies are so awesome! I really should do more art based on them, but this one just inspired me so much to do a picture, plus I'd been wanting to draw Aaron and Rukario ever since I saw them in the previews XD
I can't wait for the 9th movie now X3
